Naiyar Shaman

Engineering student with hands-on experience in mission architecture, hardware design, manufacturing, and multidisciplinary systems engineering.

ABOUT ME

I’m Naiyar Shaman, an engineering student focused on aerospace systems and mechanical design. I spend most of my time working on CAD, refining designs, or thinking through how systems actually come together beyond just analysis.

Outside of school and engineering work, I enjoy bowling, working on personal projects, and staying involved in technical competitions and NASA programs. I like building things that have a clear purpose and pushing ideas until they’re something tangible.

I’m especially interested in working on human space exploration systems — the kind of engineering that has to operate reliably in extreme environments and can’t afford to fail.

Featured Project

Project AUREVO stands for Advanced Utilization of Resources for Energy & Viability Off-Earth. I founded and led Embry-Riddle’s NASA RASC-AL team to develop a technically rigorous lunar surface power concept, advancing the project through finalist selection with a systems-driven architecture supported by detailed analysis and engineering trade studies.

EXPERIENCE

My background spans mechanical design, manufacturing support, systems engineering, NASA mission development, trade studies, subsystem integration, and technical leadership across both industry and aerospace research.

NASA Mission Development

NASA L’SPACE MCA — Project Manager

Led a 15-member multidisciplinary team through end-to-end planetary mission architecture development under NASA systems engineering standards.

  • Directed subsystem integration across propulsion, thermal, power, communications, payload, and CDH.
  • Produced 200+ pages of technical deliverables including requirements, interface definitions, N² diagrams, and risk assessments.
Incoming Internship

NASA Langley — Mars Human Exploration Architecture

Selected for NASA’s Space Mission Analysis Branch to support human Mars exploration studies and mission-level architecture development.

  • Will contribute to trade studies, concept evaluation, multidisciplinary integration, and systems analysis for Mars exploration architectures.
